Rebel Ink Magazine recently published a feature on a local Rockability Clothing Company (PinkMinkMafia) which I was selected to shoot. The shoot took place in Hawleywood’s, an all men barber shop located in Costa Mesa, CA owned by Donny Hawley. This was the first time women were allowed to set foot in his barber shop and it was much appreciated.

The day began early at 8 a.m. with 7 PinkMinkMafia models being made up by Lisa G of Vixen MUA. While I waited for the girls I set up my lights and other gear to get everything just right. I knew from the get go that I was short on lights for this many models, so I got a little creative and used the many mirrors available in the shop as well as a few reflectors and hot lights to make up the difference. I have to say I was happy with the results.

Once we were set up and the girls were ready to shoot, PMM owner Ariana Perez and I worked together to organize the girls and start shooting. After many group and individual shots we finally got the shots we were looking for and decided to call it a day at 4 p.m.

Pick up the July issue of Rebel Ink which was published as Rebel Pink to see more of my images and learn more about PinkMinkMafia.
