Katherine T with Wunder Management

I recently had the pleasure of working with Katherine T with Wunder Management. Great model!!! Very easy to work with and needed no direction just a general understanding of what I was looking to capture.

Fashion Shoot #1 Complete

Christina

I was finally able to wrap this fashion shoot up but it didn’t go as smoothly as planned. I seriously didn’t think so many things could go wrong in one shoot! Everything you could think of went wrong. I mean everything! I had models cancel, MUA cancel (but this was valid), hair stylist no show, & my assistant bailed on me the night before the shoot! Awesome! Or as Christina, one of the models, would say, “not winning”!

Between lugging around equipment and directing the MUA (and now hair stylist) it was really a hectic day in which I really had to take a step back every once in a while to make sure that I was still on track. Having to think on my feet and provide direction to everyone there, I was happy that I had taken the time to prepare for this shoot the way i did. As both models put it, “you’re so organized & punctual”.

Tanisha

Regardless of all the chaos that went on in the background I feel great about the final images produced from this shoot and at the end of the day that’s all that matters. The end result!

I had the pleasure of working with models Tanisha & Christina on this shoot and they were amazing! Especially after they realized how mad I was because of the hair stylist not showing up. lol.

Cathrine Raffaele, the MUA, did a great job on makeup as well as saved my butt by stepping in and taking care of the hair styling. Thanks again!

And last but definitely not least, my wardrobe stylists Beth & Jess put together some great outfits.

The location was better than I can put into words! The Mountain Mermaid was an excellent location to shoot and the owner was very easy to work with. The scenery and landscape on this property made it very easy to jump from one look to the next. It really was an ideal location for a fashion shoot.

In my previous posts (post 1, post 2) I described my thought process throughout the planning stages for this shoot. I included sample images used for inspiration, thoughts on locations and other ideas I was considering.

Tanisha

I would like to think that the steps I took in preparing for this shoot allowed me to pull it off. Had I not taken the time to plan as I did, this shoot would have turned out to be a disaster.

Finally I would like to mention that if you are interested in working with anyone mentioned above, you are free to contact them. I have added links to their websites and you can find their contact information there.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my little adventure. I’m now working on the next one. Come back to see how that turns out.

Fashion Photoshoot With Model Licie

I recently worked with Licie, a Miami based model who was a pleasure to work with. We shot at a Metro stop near the freeway. It was noisy and not the best conditions for a fashion shoot but she was very professional and upbeat and because of that we were able to produce some great results.

Not even the distracting honks by motorists driving by prevented her from maintaining some great facial expressions. Great job Licie!

Slippery Wet Shoot With Giselle

Cold, cold, cold!!! This is how Giselle described the weather that day. But still she battled through it helping me create some great images. We were at the beach on a supposedly “partially” cloudy day that was a little chilly. But then again I wasn’t the one that was covered in baby oil with a cut up t-shirt and a bikini bottom either.

Are you kidding I was wearing some jeans and a warm sweater! It was cold outside! lol. That’s the price you pay when you model for me. As we shot she would stop shivering long enough to capture some of her great poses and facial expressions in which you would never had known it was as cold as it was that day. She did an awesome job!

Jami Jones, the makeup artist, also played a critical role in pulling of this shoot. Not only did she do an outstanding job on the makeup but every so often I would yell to her, “more baby oil”, and she was readily available with the baby oil bottle squirting poor Giselle. It was a great shoot!!!

And here is the result:

She did mention that she was happy with the results. And more importantly she did not get sick so I can honestly say that no models were injured during the process of creating this image! Good times!

Fashion Shoot with Frenchy

I had the pleasure of working with Frenchy on a fashion shoot that I had a lot of fun working on. Frenchy was great and really jumped into the the project with no reservation. As a result we were able to produce the images that we did.

Also contributing to this project was my trusted makeup artist & hair stylist Jami Jones who always does a fabulous job as you can see.

Nyla Beauty Shot

I recently had the opportunity to work with Nyla on a ad style shoot and I took advantage of the situation to steal a few beauty shots.

Here is the lighting setup I used:

The background was a white muslin that I blew out with 2 AB-800′s with 24″ X 24″ soft boxes. The one on the left side was slightly back towards the camera to reach the model’s face giving her that highlight on her right hand side. The key light was an AB 800 with a 36″ X 24″ soft box located to camera right.

PinkMinkMafia is a Los Angeles, CA based woman’s clothing company that has an edgy rockabilly/pinup style. Recently they held their annual Rock-A-Chola event in which they invite their supporters to show up and witness a group photo session in the works. This event serves as a meet and great where PMM’s supporters can see what the day of a PMM girl entails. I had the pleasure of being one of two photographers invited to work with them on this day.

The shoot began at 7 a.m. with the models (about 17 girls) getting their hair and make up done. While I waited for the girls I was coordinating with the owners of the vehicles that were included in the shoot. Once everything was in order and the girls were camera ready, the shoot began.

It was a very hot day and I (as were the models) was in a hurry to get some great shots and call it a day. The girls were melting and I must have lost about 10 pounds in sweat over the course of the shoot. Nevertheless we battled through it and as a result we were able to produce some pretty amazing images that will be used for advertising and promoting the PMM brand.

Once the shoot was over we proceeded to Keegans Bar & Grill in Torrance, CA where the shoot turned into an event filled with drinks, live bands, a burlesque dancer, and lots of fun. All in all a very successful day.
