BIO

My name is Angel Perez, I’m 34 years old and I’m happily married with three wonderful kids. I was born and raised in Southern California and love everything about this state so I could never leave it. I have been a photographer for a little over 4 years now and really can’t imagine myself doing anything else. I LOVE WHAT I DO!

I never dreamed that I would end up down this path. If you would ask anyone that has known me over the years, not one person would say, “yea I knew Angel would be a photographer sooner or later”. As a matter of fact, when I tell old friend whom I haven’t seen in a while that I’m a photographer their reaction is, “Really? You’re a photographer? How did that happen?”

I stumbled onto photography simply because one day I decided to buy a “good” camera so I could take “better” pictures of products I sold. I snapped about 1,000 frames and discovered very quickly that the camera had nothing to do with the quality of the image that was produced. This photography thing actually required skill and a passion for creating meaningful images that effectively communicate a message to its viewers. Who would have thought?

Shortly after, I began studying, learning, networking, and asking as many questions as I could get answers to by working photographers who’s work I respected and figured would move me in the right direction. And, after much trial and error I have managed to put together a skill set that has produced the images in the galleries displayed on this website.

Through my trial and error I have discovered that no matter how well you plan a production, something is inevitably going to go wrong. My ability to think on my feet and a little stubbornness have been great assets and have helped me push through every shoot to produce the images I planed to produce beforehand.

During a production my goal is to generate an image that grabs the intended audience’s attention in a way that stands out from the bombardment of images they are exposed to on a daily basis. In doing so, I take a great deal of time in pre-production making sure that every aspect of the production is understood by everyone involved.

I strongly feel that this extra allocation of time to planning and ensuring that everyone associated with the production process is “on the same page” greatly increases our rate of success. The bottom line is that, for me, photography is a business and the people who hire me expect results from the images we partner to produce.
